Seasons Greetings from All of Us at Sunset House!

Happy Holidays!

As we approach the holiday season, on behalf of the staff, management and owners of Sunset House and Sunset Divers, we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a peaceful, happy, and joyous holiday season!

We hope your new year brings you much happiness and prosperity. We especially wish to thank our guests for thinking of us for their pleasure and  dive travels. At this time of year, we think of friends and family.

We at Sunset House, consider each and every guest, exactly that.  Our friends and definitely part of the Sunset Family!

As one airline puts it, "We know you have a choice in travel!"  We ask for your continued support, and our thoughts and prayers go with you.

Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year!

From the Briggs Family and the Staff at Sunset House!

Stay-Focused is a scuba diving program for mobility-challenged teens that builds confidence and teaches valuable lessons on overcoming challenges.
Stay-Focused offers mobility-challenged persons the opportunity to become certified SCUBA divers, and through that experience to learn lasting lessons about life and achievement. It promotes empowerment, discipline, and focus in helping young adults achieve personal goals. Also, Stay-Focused is committed to supporting medical research that explores the beneficial aspects of water sports on persons with mobility issues.

Join Sunset House, especially in this holiday season,  in being a sponsor or make a donation to help with this outstanding organization, founded and ran by Roger Muller, who has a non-stop commitment to these kids and this organization's mission!

Stay-Focused also recognizes the need to support medical research to better describe the physical and psychological benefits of SCUBA diving, as well as other water sports, for mobility-challenged persons. We are engaging in partnerships with the medical community to drive research and provide case studies.

The Second Annual Stay-Focused Underwater Bike Ride - scheduled for Saturday, February 24th.  Building on success earlier this year, they will again put a stationary bike in the deep-end of the pool at the Hyatt and have divers ride it continuously for 12 hours - 6 am - 6 pm.  Divers seek sponsors to support their efforts.

My wife and I have visited Sunset House 25+ times since 1990 and have never been disappointed. We have seen dozens of turnovers in staff, but the operation never seems to change. Whe we arrive we feel as though we are coming home. When we leave, it is like leaving family behind. I have dove Sunset reef literally hundreds of times and never tire of it. If you are thinking of coming to GCM, you can't miss with Sunset House.

Last night we moved the boats for the first time this winter. The cold fronts slowly make there way south at this time of the year and at this point we know summer is over. The strange thing is that the water temperature has only decreased slightly. The fronts normally last a couple of days but this does not deter us from any diving activities.
Freddy and Pete's summer expeditions to the south side will be beneficial now. Being the closest dive center to the southern walls of Grand Cayman has many benefits. Knowledge is one and with Freddy's keen eye there will be plenty to interest all levels.

Portrait of Kevin

Kevin was born in Montreal which is no mean feat. He spent his summers in Monkton, New Brunswick and after being badly stung by a jellyfish developed a healthy loathing for all things wet. Also an aversion to seafood. Read his full story
