Dee Montieth

Sunset House is a Hotel for Divers by Divers. It’s a philosophy that Resort's Hotel Manager firmly believes in. Dee Montieth is a PADI Assistant Instructor with nearly twenty years experience in the Caymans. We can correctly assume then, that Dee not only knows the island, she knows the diving too. In addition Dee has had many years working behind the scenes in reservations, logistics and marketing the whole Cayman diving concept so she brings to the post a vast amount of knowledge to draw from.

Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Dee came to Grand Cayman in 1988 and married her favorite Divemaster! During her time on the island Dee has worked for many of the major players and has, without, question, seen the Cayman dive industry evolve into what it is today. For the last 4 years Dee was the voice behind the hotel, many of you have spoken to her while booking your trip and she is the eager voice at the end of the phone willing to answer any questions you may have.

This 5th Generation Californian shares a passion for cats, Chinese Fridays and University of Colorado football (Go Buffs) with her husband Ivan. Ivan is an accomplished technical diver and video editing his underwater exploits is a particular passion of Dee’s.

Look out for her around the resort, always approachable and happy to answer your questions, share a beer or tell great storm stories. We are indeed fortunate to have Dee at the helm- we wish her well in this challenging role.
