To all the staff at the Sunset House.
Thank you for your contribution to the Bonne Terre Mine Treasure Hunt. My wife and I took our honeymoon in Grand Cayman 15 years ago. At the time we were not familiar with the island and learned very quickly the Sunset House resort was the place for divers. We vowed that when we returned for an anniversary honeymoon we would stay at your resort. Thanks to your generosity and the fine staff at Bonne Terre Mine we will be returning as the Grand Prize winner of the Bonne Terre Mine Treasure Hunt. Our excitement can hardly be contained. We look forward to visiting your beautiful resort and will be counting down every day. Thanks again! You're AWESOME!!
Sincerely,
Dave and Deb

Temecula Valley Wine and Food Festival
2009-06-07 @ 10:10:45
Without a doubt, one of the most festive parts of this year's Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival was Saturday nights "Balloon Glow", featuring the crowd favorite, the brightly colored, Cayman Islands Balloon. On hand for the weekend event was the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism out of Houston, Tina Hodgson, Jackie Mitchell and Elizabeth Himes and Sunset House's own, Keith Sahm, celebrating Sunset House's 50th anniversary!

As the sun set, the crowd gathered at the Main and Wine Stages where a half dozen or so balloonists vied for their chance to be the star of a most spectacular part of the evening - the Balloon Glow. The crowd was warmed with musical entertainment.

The crowd favorite, was Pilot Doug Grimes and the Cayman Islands Balloon!

Entertainers played as the crowd awaited in anticipation of the infamous Balloon Glow where pilots make their hot air balloons dance to a musical beat. This took place around 9:00 pm, a few minutes late, because of some rather COOL and windy conditions this year!

To accomplish the glow, balloon pilots ignited their burners simultaneously. This caused the colorful balloon envelopes to glow against the black skies at Lake Skinner in Temecula, California. The pilots then make the balloons "dance" by igniting the burners to a musical beat.

Another big highlight on Saturday was Patty Smyth with her band Scandal and Starship with Mickey Thomas on the main stage during the afternoon. Look for more pictures soon to come on the Friends of Sunset House Facebook Page!
