Guardian’s Keep takes readers on a thrill ride, above and below the water
2008-11-25 @ 06:41:02
The third dive adventure novel in the Mike Scott series by Eric Douglas is now available. His first novel was set at Sunset House on Grand Cayman and described dives off of Sunset Reef, including a dive with the Sunset House Mermaid. The second novel, Flooding Hollywood, takes place off the coast of southern California and Catalina Island.

In this story, Dr. Francesca DeMarco, a beautiful archeologist, is searching an underwater site on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. Chasing stories of a mysterious group of Guardians, she runs into roadblocks as someone is trying to keep her from discovering the truth. News photographer Mike Scott is sent to do a story on the project, but when he and Dr. DeMarco are nearly killed in the process he decides to help her discover who is behind the attacks.

To unlock the mystery of the Guardians, they have to overcome a group of delusional fanatics bent to stop them at any costs. If they are successful, they might just find a religious artifact lost when the Romans overran the Temple in Jerusalem. If not, they might be locked away in a tomb for the rest of their lives.

Douglas began diving in 1990 and became a dive instructor in 1998. He is currently the Training Director for Divers Alert Network in Durham, North Carolina. Guardian’s Keep is now available. CAYMAN ISLANDS TO CREATE NEW SCUBA DIVING ATTRACTION WITH SINKING OF USS KITTIWAKE
2008-11-24 @ 14:54:13
The Cayman Islands will augment its reputation as one of the top Scuba diving destinations in the world with the sinking of the USS Kittiwake, slated for June 2009. With this new development, the Cayman Islands will create an exciting new dive attraction and artificial reef, while providing much needed relief for some of the most frequently visited dive sites. The USS Kittiwake, a de-commissioned naval ship, will be sunk on the north end of the Grand Cayman's world famous Seven Mile Beach, providing underwater enthusiasts of all skill levels with a new year-round diving destination that is both easy to access and a thrill to explore.

Minister of Tourism, Hon. Charles E. Clifford, said the acquisition of the USS Kittiwake will add diversity to Cayman's diving attractions and promote the preservation of marine life.

The USS Kittiwake was originally commissioned as a Chanticleer-class submarine rescue ship in the United States Navy during World War II. Now it will join the MV Captain Keith Tibbets, a Russian Frigate sunk off the coast of Cayman Brac in 1996, as one of the greatest artificial reefs in the Caribbean.
