Congratulations to Andrew Smiley and Stay Focused
2009-12-17 @ 04:55:09
Nineteen year old Cayman Islands Special Olympian Andrew Smiley had such a great time with a Discover Scuba earlier this summer; he decided he was comfortable enough to try it again, this time, in the sea!
Sunset Divers’ Jackie Kienas is an active participant in “Stay Focused”, a nonprofit organization, founded by native New Yorker Roger Muller. Stay-Focused is a scuba diving program for teens and young adults with disabilities that builds confidence and teaches valuable lessons on overcoming challenges.

Stay Focused, along with the Sunshine Adult Training specialist Mery Fortney, also gives Andrew and other local Caymanians, the chance to work with dedicated instructors, like Jackie, to experience the beauty of the sea.

Aaron Faull's take on Cayman
2009-11-16 @ 06:46:03
It’s a unique world, the one that Aaron Faulls chooses to call home. From the sonic bombast of the concert stage to the silence of the reef, it is as colorful to see as it is to hear. He is going to slip a backstage pass into your pocket without you even knowing it was there and upon entry into each paradise, grab a beverage and keep your eyes open. Be advised to keep up and watch him feel it all out with both hands and a pair of fins … because he will. Every last bit of it. And he wants you to see and hear it, too.

Chris Briggs Wrangles Crocodile by Marina!
2009-09-28 @ 11:57:06
Sunset House's Chris Briggs (Adrien and Bonnie's "youngest") caught a 4 foot crocodile close to Harbour House Marina on Sunday!

Members of the Department of Environment and Royal Cayman Islands Police, who responded to the scene, were met by a crowd of spectators cuing up to catch a glimpse of the catch.

DOE Acting Chief Enforcement Officer Mark Orr said the reptile appeared to be several months old and could have either been brought here, drifted on a log or actually born in these waters.
