Andy BarnesSunset Divers Instructor
A native of Cambridgeshire in England, Andy learned to dive with Bedford BSAC in 1983. A career in the construction industry followed and all the while diving seemed never to be far from Andy's mind. During a 2003 visit to Cozumel Andy had what only can be described as a life-changing experience. He was fortunate enough to dive with a PADI centre and from that moment on, diving took on a whole different meaning. Once he got home Andy made a b-line to the famous Stoney Cove- described by many as the “Eilat of England” The busiest inland training centre in the UK. Slowly but surely Andy scaled the PADI ladder and became Assistant Instructor. Never resting on his laurels Andy decided Egypt was the place to complete his Instructor Development so that’s where he went. The Red Sea has that sort of effect on a man… Andy is now a MSDT and an ex-construction worker, firmly seated at the Sunset table. Like all of us here he has a passion for Japanese motorcycles, loves Guiness and feels pretty blessed to be in the Caribbean this winter. He and his partner Jo are keen ballroom dancers and like to paintball. |
